Bingo Chat Games

Bingo Chat GamesMany online bingo sites use the chat feature not only to let you converse with other players in the room, but to play chat games. These are games that run alongside the main bingo game, and are decided by the numbers that are called. Whilst some online bingo sites run chat game purely for fun (and they really are a lot of fun), others give out token prizes. These are usually small cash sums or, if the site operates a loyalty scheme, bonus points.

There are literally scores of chat games that are played around the world and new ones are being invented all the time. Whilst this means that we can't provide a comprehensive list of chat games that are played, we can share some of our favourites. Note that different online bingo rooms often play to their own unique rules, so if you choose to participate in a chat game make sure you know what these rules are before you get involved.

Bingo

In 75 ball bingo (where columns are labelled B-I-N-G-O) each player chooses one number from each column. You call "BINGO" as soon as your five numbers have been called. The first player to call Bingo in a game wins.

Blackjack

To play Blackjack you choose three numbers that total 21 when added together. You call "Blackjack" as soon as your three numbers have been called. The first player to call Blackjack in a game wins.

First Number

Each player chooses a number that they think will be the first to be called in the next game. If yours is the winner, shout the claim phrase (for example, "First Number!) so that the moderator can check your claim and award your prize.

Gin

In 75 ball bingo each player chooses one G number, one I number and one N number. You call "Gin" as soon as your three numbers have been called. The first player to call Gin in a game wins.

Keno

This is a lottery-type game where you choose several numbers (online bingo rooms commonly require you to pick 6 or 10 numbers, though other rules do exist) and submit them by email to the chat moderator. Then you wait and see how many of your numbers are called from the first batch of numbers in a game (again, the size of the batch with vary). The more numbers you get, the more you win, as long as you don't forget to shout "Keno" at the appropriate time.

Trivia

This is a popular chat game which doesn't actually have anything to do with the bingo numbers being called. The rules are simple: the chat moderator asks a trivia question and the first player to answer correctly wins.
