Spanish Variant

Spanish Variant BingoSpanish Variant bingo is a type of 90 ball bingo that we are beginning to see in a few online bingo rooms, so for the benefit of those who haven’t yet played it, allow us to fill you in on the details.

As with regular 90 ball bingo, the Spanish Variant uses tickets that feature three lines of five numbers. Numbers in the range 1 to 90 are selected at random and called. Players mark their cards accordingly (or have their numbers auto-daubed for them when playing online).

Of course, all of the above bingo rules are exactly the same as in the English 90 ball game, so where’s the big difference in the Spanish Variant game? Well, the difference is in the prizes. In regular 90 ball bingo, prizes are paid to the first player to make one line, two lines or a full house. But in Spanish Variant bingo, there is no prize for two lines – only for one line and the full house.

The main advantage of Spanish Variant bingo is that the prizes for the one line and full house tend to be larger than in regular 90 ball games of comparable size, since there is no two-line prize that needs to be paid.
