Crown Bingo is a fairly humdrum and predictable online bingo site from Crown Bingo Ltd and Virtue Fusion Ltd. You won’t need to download any software to play here, but to be honest it wouldn’t be worth doing so even if you did – there are plenty of better sites around to choose from if you fancy a decent game. The home page shouts about sign-up offers, but those are only going to appeal to players who value bonus cash over the quality of the gaming experience itself.
You can play both 90 ball and 75 ball bingo at Crown Bingo. The latter game took more than three years to arrive, so if you fancy even more choice you may be in for a lengthy wait. There are two progressive jackpots on offer in addition to the regular house prizes. The Piggy Bank jackpot is won by any player who gets a full house in 43 calls or less, and the Cash Cow jackpot goes to players who get a full house in 34 calls or less. The Cash Cow is much harder to win, and so this progressive jackpot is invariably bigger than the Piggy Bank, though even that is generally worth around four figures. Of course, when you’re in any doubt about being able to get hold of the money that is rightfully yours, such jackpots are irrelevant.
Crown Bingo tickets cost from 1p each, and you can play up to 72 tickets, depending on the game you choose to participate in. The tickets themselves are presented on the right of the screen with the chat interface to the left of them. Game information and the numbers board are position at the head of the screen, along with buttons that give you access to an options menu and help. There’s nothing here that you haven’t seen before, so prepare yourself for a sudden sense of déjà vu.
Numbers are called by Karl Seth, who was named Bingo Caller of the Year in 2005. We think that Crown Bingo should count themselves very lucky to have landed themselves a big name like Karl, because his talent really is the only thing that makes this site unique.
There are several slot machine, roulette and scratch card games available to play alongside the bingo, but we would have preferred a little (or a lot) more innovation in terms of the bingo itself. Plenty of other sites are able to add more personality to the proceedings, so quite why Crown Bingo comes across as being an also-ran is a bit of a mystery.
Our conclusion? If you’re desperate to play bingo and have no other choice, Crown Bingo will let you scratch your itch. But if you want a genuinely entertaining and innovative site, look elsewhere.
