Big Bingo Winners

Those players who think that online bingo isn't as profitable as its real life counterpart should be encouraged by the success of a Littlewoods Bingo player going by the screen-name of flojo100. On 24th July, flojo100 staked just £1.20 on a game and scooped a massive £45,086 - a sum that is more than 37,500 times her outlay.

"I can't believe it! I am shaking like a leaf," flojo100 said shortly after her win. "I am going to spend the money on some new carpets and furniture for my home and also go on a nice holiday. Me and my husband are both disabled and live off a pension. We have had some awful rain over the past couple of days but the sun is shining today."

Back in the non-virtual world, the lives of two National Bingo Game players were changed in style last week when their numbers came up to give them each a jackpot-winning full house.

A 48 year old woman who manages a bakery shop in St Helens made a full house in 43 calls to win a very impressive £100,000 at the Mecca Club in Kirkland Street. The lucky winner also received a house prize of £425. "I barely reacted when I was told I had won, probably because I couldn't believe it," she said. "That kind of thing just doesn't happen to me!"

On the same day in Leeds, a 65 year old Mecca Club player who has four children and seven grandchildren won £50,000. Like most major prize winners, it took some time for the reality of the win to sink in, but she soon telephoned her husband to share the good news. And his response when he had been informed of the windfall? "He just carried on watching his football afterwards," the winner said with a laugh.
