Bingo for Breakthrough
As many of you are already aware everything has gone pink this month! It’s Breast Cancer awareness month and the UK Bingo industry is helping all they can with Bingo for Breakthrough, bringing together bingo clubs throughout the UK for a massive week of fundraising.
Breast cancer awareness is a huge issue for women and with over three quarters of UK bingo players being female Bingo for Breakthrough is a great way to get the message straight to the hearts of women across the UK.
This is the fifth year in a row that UK bingo players will be playing special fundraising games in support of the Breast Cancer awareness charity to raise money for the cause that is so close to the hearts of many women.
The Bingo association has so far raised over £3 million towards Breast Cancer research and over 400 UK Bingo clubs and halls will be taking part in this years’ event which is to be supported by the well known Eastenders actress Michelle Collins. This years’ Bingo for Breakthrough event is to be held between October 19th and October 25th when pink themed prizes and pink ribbon daubers will be up for grabs in UK bingo halls throughout the country.
So if you’re a regular bingo goer then you can join in the fun and raise awareness and money for a good cause while you’re there, last years events included sponsored sky dives and ‘X-factor’ competitions so you can only imagine what fun will be in store at this years’ event.
It’s not just one for the ladies, men are welcome and encouraged to get involved. Check out your local bingo club and see how you can help make a little difference to a big cause.
