Blue Nun to Partner Foxy Bingo
Blue Nun wine will be partnering with Foxy Bingo to create a new bino site called bluenunbingo.com from June 2007. The aim is to give the Blue Nun brand a new lease of life by positioning the product for a target consumer who is female and aged somewhere between their late twenties and their early thirties. Since there are plenty of women playing Foxy Bingo that happen to fit this profile, Langguth Wines & Spirits – the company that owns Blue Nun – is hoping that the partnership will be a beneficial one.
The idea of associating two traditionally opposed archetypes is at the heart of all comedy, and for this reason the mass media is bound to have some fun with the numerous innuendos that can be derived from a nun partnering with a “foxy” bingo site. However, the Blue Nun is no stranger to such partnerships; in 2005 she partnered with the Anne Summers brand with some success.
Although most people associate Blue Nun with the famous blue bottle of medium-bodied white wine that is made from grapes grown in Rheinhessen on the banks of the River Rhine, there is actually an entire range of wines bottled under the Blue Nun brand. One can buy a Blue Nun Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rosé and Shiraz, to name just a few of the options available. It is undoubtedly little facts like this that a successful promotional campaign will aim to bring to public awareness.
Of course Foxy Bingo will also benefit from the partnership, as any promotion that helps one partner will automatically help to raise the profile of the other. Although Foxy Bingo has been around since 2005, it is much younger than the Blue Nun brand that the British public have been talking about for more than a decade. Being associated with this older brand will help Foxy Bingo to consolidate its reputation as a reliable and trustworthy UK-based online bingo site.
