Clacton Gala Club

Clacton Gala Bingo ClubA Clacton bingo player at the Gala Club has won a prize of £41,000 after making a full house before anyone else in the country. This total consisted of a £100 house prize, a £1,999 regional prize and a National Bingo Prize worth £39,535.

The winner, who is 61 years old, had agreed to share any winnings with her friend, and she will be honouring that agreement by splitting the prize equally.

“I’m gobsmacked,” the winner said. “I don’t want to make any rash decisions while I’m still so shocked so I’ll wait until I get the cheque before I decide what I’m going to do with the money.”

The winner has been playing bingo for 32 years and visits the Gala Club once or twice each week with her friend. She is married with two children and one grandchild, and will undoubtedly be looking forward to an extra special summer thanks to her bingo win.

Elsewhere, in Riddrie near Glasgow, another National Bingo Game winner is celebrating a total prize of over £76,000. This comprised a house prize of £24, a regional prize of £3,061 and a National Bingo Prize worth £73,060, thanks to her making a full house in 42 calls.

This winner plays at the Savoy Club in Cambuslang every week, and she has been playing bingo for more than thirty years. Like the Clacton winner, she had also agreed to split any winnings with her friend, and will be doing so on a 50/50 basis.

“My friend jumped up and down after it was announced how much I had won,” she said. “I just couldn’t believe it.”

Four children and one grandchild will now be treated by the Riddrie winner, and her family are described at being “over the moon” at her success.
