Colchester Bingo

A 26 year old Colchester man has won over £39,000 playing bingo at the Gala Club. The winner, who has been a member of the club for eight years, usually plays bingo once a week if he isn’t working.

The healthcare worker was participating in the National Bingo Game when he made a full house in 42 calls. In doing so he won a house prize worth £200, a zone prize worth £2,066 and the National Bingo Game prize worth £37,165.

“I was extremely shocked when they announced how much I had won as previously I’d only ever won the rainbow ticket of £500,” the winner admitted.  “I still need to let it sink in and then I can think about what to do with the money but I think I’ll probably be saving most of it.”

Someone else who will no doubt be doing some saving is a 46 year old woman from Greenford who won the National Bingo Game on Valentine’s Day. She was playing at the Beacon Club in Cricklewood Broadway, and made a full house in 46 numbers.

The National Bingo Game prize that night was worth £33,895, but another player in Cumbria also made as full house in 46 numbers, so the prize was split. This gave the Greenford winner a £16,947 share of the National Bingo Game prize, a regional prize worth £2,122 and a house prize of £404, bringing her total winnings to £19,473.

The woman started playing at the Beacon Club in 1999 and currently plays bingo twice a week. She said, ““I needed someone to pinch me when I found out how much I had won.  I was about to give up playing bingo because I hadn’t won anything for ages. I can’t believe good luck finally came my way. This win is really going to help with my finances.
