North Shields Bingo

North Shields BingoA North Shields bingo win worth over £38,000 will be used by the winner to buy the ‘wedding of her dreams’. Mother of two Kelly Potts made a full house in 44 calls at the Gala Club in Wallsend, North Shields, on Tuesday 22 April.

Kelly, who is 32 years of age, spend the rest of the night celebrating with her friends and family. She had previously agreed to split any wins with her sister-in-law on a 50/50 basis, and will be honouring the verbal agreement without question. The rest will be put to good use as she plans to tie the matrimonial knot with her boyfriend.

“My boyfriend and I have no savings but now we have the money to pay for a honeymoon and a hotel for our wedding reception,” Kelly said. “I’ve seen an absolutely gorgeous hotel which is very expensive but we can afford it now. Five years ago I lost both my dad and my baby and it’s taken a long time to get over it.  With the wedding as well, this win has really come at a good time.”

Kelly has been playing bingo at the Gala Club for four years, but her visit on Tuesday 22 April was her first for several months. “My sister-in-law and I were bored so we decided to go and play bingo,” she explained. “I broke my heart with crying when I won.”

The £38,933 win comprised a house prize of £140, a regional prize of £2,018 and the National Bingo Game prize of £36,775. Once she gives her sister in law her share, she will have £19,466.50 left to buy the bingo wedding she has always wanted. We congratulate Kelly and wish her well on her big day and in the years to come.
