Traditional bingo clubs can be found throughout the United Kingdom, and although a substantial number are truly independent, many are owned and operated by much larger organisations. This article identifies the biggest operators in the UK and provides a brief description of each:

Gala

The largest bingo operator in the UK, Gala has over 175 clubs, more than five million members and pays out an average of £28,000,000 to winners each week. The brand, which boasts a 40% market share, is as high profile as they come, and advertises regularly on television, radio and in mass market print media. Gala Online.

Mecca

Part of the Rank Group plc (which also owns the Grosvenor chain of casinos), Mecca has 103 clubs across the UK and over five million members. The clubs provide a complete night out for bingo players, with cabaret entertainment and good value food and drink on offer alongside National Bingo Games. Mecca Online.

Carlton

Carlton Bingo has 16 bingo clubs situated Scotland and the North East of England. The chain employs more than 550 members of staff and also operates a Café Bar in Livingston and a cinema in Stirling.

Castle Leisure

Castle Leisure has its head office in Cardiff and operates a chain of eight bingo clubs in South Wales. It is proud of the fact that it is one of the oldest private companies in South Wales and has been providing customer satisfaction since 1856.

Palace Bingo

Palace Bingo clubs can be found in London, Great Yarmouth, Salford, Felixstowe and Gorleston, and the chain describes itself as “the fastest-growing network of bingo clubs in the UK”.

Deluxe Clubs

With traditional clubs already thriving in Eastbourne, Folkestone and Southend, the Deluxe Clubs chain is currently planning to launch an online version of their bingo game.

There are obviously many other operators in the UK, and we have not made an attempt to present a comprehensive directory for the simple reason that smaller operators come and go on a fairly regular basis. This is particularly the case with independents. However, the above selection of operators collectively run the lion’s share of bingo clubs in the UK, and no matter where you are located you will probably find that you aren’t too far away from one of their establishments.
